UK shipments before Brexit

15.12.2020
Deal or No Deal? Lots of people probably thought of the TV show when they heard these words a few years ago. Today the question of a deal is elementary – for the whole of Europe and also for logistics specialists. We are talking about the Brexit deal. From 1 January 2021, the United Kingdom will no longer be part of the European Single Market and Customs Union. Whether the EU and its former member will reach a deal in time remains to be seen.

At the moment, all the signs are pointing towards no deal. That would have far-reaching consequences for logistics because it would mean more work at border checkpoints. For all goods that cross the border between the United Kingdom and the EU, full import controls would then be necessary, including customs declarations.

The good thing is: with TRANS AURIGA you are fully prepared!

We will now bring the key words EORI number into play. What is this? An identification number that is absolutely essential for companies importing / exporting goods from or even into the EU. It will be needed from 1 January 2021 for all consignments and relevant customs declarations between the EU and the United Kingdom. You can find out more here.

What else is important?
