## Why heavy haul is planning, not driving

A 123 t press frame, a 71 t wire rope reel or a 191 t die-casting die need more than a low-loader: axle-load calculations, bridge statics, night runs with escort, police coordination, permits through several federal states or countries – and a plan B when a route is closed.

We take over the whole chain: permits and route planning, choice of the right operator and vehicle (up to 20-axle combinations), crane and loading, staged transports across several hauliers and – where the road won’t carry – the switch to inland barge or rail.

## Four things we hear a lot – and what we do about them

### “The permit arrives too late – the machine is already finished.”

We start permit engineering before the machine is finished: route surveys, statics requests, coordination with authorities in every state and country – with TA Permit Safe as our own permit management.

### “Which vehicle carries 191 tonnes?”

The right one: low-loader, vessel bridge, modular trailer up to 20-axle combinations or SPMT – we choose equipment and operator by piece and route, not by what happens to be in the yard.

### “At night, with police, across the border – who coordinates that?”

We do: escort vehicles, police escort, closures, night runs, permits in Poland, Germany or Slovakia – one responsible party for everyone involved.

### “The carrier won’t release the cargo without a securing concept.”

Crane, loading, cargo-securing concept and loading survey are part of our scope – so carrier and insurer release and the pre-carriage doesn’t end at the quay.

## Frequently asked questions

How long does a heavy-haul permit take?

It depends on route, states and weight – from a few days to several weeks, longer with statics checks. That’s why we start the permit before the machine is finished, not after.

Can you also handle transports inside the plant?

Yes. In-plant moves by SPMT, through underpasses, to the plant quay – as in the relocation of the Fagor 3200 press line.

What happens if a route is closed?

We plan alternatives from the start: another route, inland barge, rail or transhipment. That is the difference between a haulier and a project forwarder.
