## Logistics starts in sales and purchasing

A machinery maker delivering DAP into a country whose customs he doesn’t know carries a risk no forwarder can ship away later. Selling FOB while the bank demands a bill of lading with a specific cargo description needs documents built to match the letter of credit – not the standard form.

That is why we advise where decisions are made: Incoterms strategy aligned with letter of credit and insurance, lane check before you commit, workshops for sales and purchasing – or straight away as your external logistics department in the control-tower model.

## Four things we hear a lot – and what we do about them

### “The bank rejects the bill of lading.”

Because cargo description or DG remark don’t match the letter of credit. We build B/L, AWB, packing lists and certificates of origin so the bank accepts them – before shipment, not under time pressure afterwards.

The one that fits contract, letter of credit, insurance and risk appetite – per lane and customer, not across the board. Advice for sales and purchasing before anything is signed.

Do you also advise without a transport order?

Yes. Incoterms strategy, lane checks and workshops are stand-alone services – the transport can, but doesn’t have to, run through us.

What is the control tower?

We act as your external logistics department: tendering, steering and monitoring of all project shipments, one contact for purchasing and project management. Scope and duration are agreed together.

Do you handle customs for non-project cargo too?

For existing customers, yes. Our focus remains project and oversized cargo, because that is where document errors are most expensive.
